HOFV Holiday Kickoff presented by Hendrickson & the Spirit of the Season 5k

Hall of Fame Village Holiday Kickoff presented by Hendrickson and the Spirit of the Season 5K coming to Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, Saturday, November 27, 2021

Free Community Holiday Event to Include Fireworks, Virtual Tree Lighting and After Party

CANTON, Ohio – October 15, 2021 – The Hall of Fame Village powered by Johnson Controls (“HOF Village”), a multi-use sports, entertainment and media destination centered around the Pro Football Hall of Fame Museum in Canton, Ohio, today announced it will host a Holiday Kickoff party, presented by Hendrickson at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium on Saturday, November 27, 2021. The family-friendly event will include a fireworks show, virtual tree lighting ceremony, kids Funzone, food trucks, ice sculpting, a reindeer petting zoo, and much more! Admission is free with a suggested food or cash donation to the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank.

The Hall of Fame Village Holiday Kickoff, which will start at 4:30 PM and run until 9:00 PM, will take place on the field of Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. Prior to the event, from 4:00 – 5:30 PM, HOFV, in partnership with Run to You Racing, will host the Spirit of the Season 5K that will enable families to walk or run the grounds of the Village. The Lil Reindeer Dash, a free fun run for those 10 and under, will start at 5:30 PM, while The Diaper Dash will start at 5:45 PM. A special finish line camera will put the faces of all participants on the video board inside the stadium.

The family-friendly event will feature a Kids Funzone area with a bounce house, obstacle courses, a gaming trailer and balloon animals, and one of Sophie’s Magic Mailboxes, allowing anyone to write a letter to Ol’ St. Nick himself and receive one in return. Children will also have the opportunity to meet and take photos with Santa, his elves and Mrs. Claus, local team mascots and Officer LaMar Sharpe, an 18-year veteran with the Canton Police Department. What’s more, the Canton Fire Department will also be on hand, and children will be able to participate in an interactive firetruck experience.

The festive community event will also include a vendor village where attendees can get a head start on holiday shopping. A limited number of vendor spaces are still available and can be secured by emailing info@hofvillage.com. Additionally, there will be opportunities to learn more about and support nonprofit organizations such as Be a Better Me, The Salvation Army, and Toys for Tots.

As the afternoon turns to evening, a post-event party will begin from 7:30 – 10:00 PM in the Stadium Club for guests aged 21+. The after-party will feature live music by Half the Nation with holiday ales, and spirits available for purchase. A limited number of tickets are available for the post-event party, and admission is $15 in advance or at the door while tickets remain.
